book in the series, this book gives an overview of the profession
from its early beginnings in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis through
the development of the different schools and approaches of talking
therapies including psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural and person-centred

May 2010, it takes students on a step-by-step journey through the
history of reflective practice. A central theme of the book is the
concept of self-reflection and what motivates a therapist to do
